I have not heard about these before but I guess these are some of the pants that the police have been wearing of late. The brand is called 5.11 and these are tactical pants. From looking at them I can not really tell the difference from the picture what makes them so special. From reading the website here are some of the features that make these pants the choice of Law Enforcement: · Lightweight Poly-Cotton (NEW FEATURE) · Fade-Resistant Ripstop Fabric (NEW FABRIC) · ZIP-OFF lower legs allows you to turn these into tactical shorts in a few seconds (NEW FEATURE) · Treated with Teflon for stain and soil resistance. (NEW FEATURE) · Elastic Waistband. · Lower leg sections WILL take 5.11 knee pad inserts. · 7 pocket 5.11 Original pocket configuration · Only khaki available at this time.

I like the Ripstop Fabric that is a nice feature as well as the zip-off lower legs.
